Tornado!

Okay, so we live in a part of the country that is not prone to tornados. Every few years there is a small one that doesn't cause any damage.

Yesterday, though, we had a Real! Actual! Tornado! It even demolished a mobile home! In the time honored tradition of tornados worldwide! And tore the roof off a KFC, and some other stuff, but thankfully no one was injured.

I was at school and the tornado passed a bit to the north of us there, we saw the lightning and heard the thunder and the rain just dumped everywhere, but we didn't know it was a Real! Actual! Tornado! until our program director stopped by the skills lab to let us know.

Yep, we'll be talking about that Real! Actual! Mobile-Home-Destroying! Tornado! down t' the general store for a right smart time to come, by cracky!

I wondered if it had come near you but it didn't appear to, on the map in the paper. Plus you don't live in a mobile home, which is the tornado magnet, as you noted; however, your backyard chicken coop DOES put you in dangerous territory in that regard. Just warning you. Don't you remember the scene in the Wizard of Oz?

Maryland doesn't get many tornadoes either but a bad one hit La Plata a few years ago. About a month afterward, I went through the town on business and you could follow the path from the damaged buildings. Really scary.
